Hello and Happy Thanksgiving🍁 !

During the last month we have been working on polishing up the design and preparing for manufacturing ⚙️.

Studio 8 Group has done a great job with some design items for us! Below is a sample of the final design of the story cards 🃏  that will come with all pledge levels. In our next update we will share final designs of Mighty Beasts (their abilities) and event cards.

 Solo mode👸🏻:

The game will include a solo mode and a solo scenario.

Below is the final design of the weather card from the solo mode.

In the next two to three weeks we scheduled to finalize the rulebook edit 📝 for all pledges and resubmit if we have any returned files from the manufacturer. We are almost done with getting everything manufacture ready! Very exciting!! We have put in a lot of hard work into this game.

We are in the final stretch and could not have done this without you. From the bottom of our hearts❤️ Thank you again for backing the Flood Board game!!! 🌊🌊🌊

October Update: Balanced board🌎, test noted implemented 📝
over 1 year ago – Fri, Oct 28, 2022 at 01:37:14 AM

Hello everyone, this is the October update!  During the past few months we were busy testing, implementing the feedback, balancing ⚖️ and in general seeing excited testers playing the Flood ⛵️ 🌊!

This month we incorporated those changes into the official game design✅. We wanted to say a big thank you for all of you who have tested the game as well as Playerlair for for all of their help with testing the Flood and balancing the Mighty Beasts 🐘🐊🐅🐆🦓!

One of our main changes was switching from a triangular hexagon to a normal hexagon. This change gave us the ability to have 4 more tiles in the board 🌎, thus give more opportunity for players to navigate and not get blocked in.

What do you think about switching to regular hexagons? Comment below!

Main mode ♟:

Instead of easy and hard modes, the Flood 🌊 now has a main mode and a classic mode. In the main mode we lay out all the information for the players so that they may develop their strategy & unique game play as well as minimize luck 🎲. In the main game mode the placement of meeples is on the tiles of the board and easier to explain to new players. Dice in this mode are used to resolve events, story cards.

Classic mode ⚜️:

We bring meeple placement and dice roll that brings nostalgia back of the old euro games.  Luck 🍀 is more important in this mode & adaptability to dice roll + resource management is vital. Meeple placement still remains 3 Elephants 🐘, and or a mixture of a Caravan and an elephant between Huts and Camps for a total of 2 structures placed per hexagon side. With purchasable extensions players may build Huts or Camps bordering 3 hexagons instead of 2. For balancing there are only 2 extensions per player.  As shown below.

This is the current board 🌎, let us know what you think. We cant wait to see this when printed into the mass- production prototype

The Board, balanced weather and turns (edge of the board) , "trade with the supply" track, bonus track, faith track and more

Dino module🦕

The sauropod game tile ( you will be able to control the sauropod in the game ).  Side (A) is used for general game play and (B) is for the Distant land co-op scenario and the "Fog scenario". The sauropod is slow compared to the regular Beasts but can forage more diverse resources + has big bonus rewards for forging and more...

Below is also an example of the A. I.  card from a scenario. Players are able to predict where the A.I will be throughout the game. This will give the players an advantage.

A Solo mode Scenario:

Solo scenario is currently in Development and testing and will most likely be officially in the game.

A brief time line: All prints of paper and cardboard material will be submitted by mid November this will allow us to verify the materials by early December and start the paper and cardboard printing of the game soon after. We are still on schedule for the fulfillment of the Flood.

Big Box of the All in pledge. W.i.P art texture touch up is currently in progress

And thats it for this update. We cant wait to have all of you try out the game!

September update: Start of submission of files, more art revealed 🎨
over 1 year ago – Thu, Sep 22, 2022 at 03:06:21 AM

Hello everyone! 👋 It is time for the September update! We are in full testing mode, lots of great feed back is coming through 📝. This month we were busy with our manufacturer, prepping for submissions of all the files for the Mass production prototype📦

Mass Production Prototype 📦

We are finished submitting files for the meeples and miniatures as well as the faith tokens & general game non-paper components.  These will undergo verifications with the manufacturer to make sure they are optimized. Once vetted the manufacturer will be making titanium molds for the PVC miniatures in the game. The mold making takes 3-4 months and takes the most time in terms of mass manufacturing. A downpayment will be made this month for manufacturing of the Flood Board Game. The manufacturer reserved printing capacity for us to deliver the Flood Board game on time.

New prototypes have arrived in Aug 23 for testing

Art from the Co-op scenarios 🦕.

As promised we will be posting never before seen art with this update. This art is from the Field Hut. In this scenario ( Gopher wood )🌲 once a player has deployed the field Hut to a tile, they can upgrade it to trade resources. This mechanic is unique to the Gopherwood scenario🌲.

Inside the Ark miniature

We have shown a lot of the Ark from the outside, below are the internals of the Ark. One of our goals was to break down the flat surfaces and to make sure that the stages don't look flat when sitting on the board, thus more detail.

Summary

The development of the Flood will finish this month (Back of the Box design, barcodes and etc. ).

Rising waters extension back of the box. This is a graphics positioning test. Player instruction boards and Mighty Beasts boards are placeholders, the textures have been updated.

The pledge manager will be updated with the the new mat and we will showcase Big box art for the All in! pledge during our next update.

Thank you everyone for supporting us and making this possible! Feel free to reach out to us with any questions @ [email protected]

August Update: Game testing, Updated textures, Pics of the current prototypes
over 1 year ago – Tue, Aug 23, 2022 at 05:22:49 PM

Hello everyone! It is time for our August update!

Gameplay

Play testers and the team @bedouingames had quite an intensive period of play testing this past month. Some rule changes have been made. As an example: after each player has completed their turn a new generation starts. This in addition to the "sin" cards advances the lightning token and changes the weather closer to the Flood. The lightning token goes from 1-40 in order. Some steps in the succession give cards, white others bonuses.

You may have noticed that the streamlined design of this game gives room for an easy and a hard game modes as well as co-op scenarios! Once the rulebook is close to being finalized we will post it in an update.

Art

Tool tokens and Resource tokens got a texture pass and a little redesign of the token shape.  Based on play testing feedback.  This make the more more clear, easy to learn and further decreases set up time.

Our artists are completing final card art for the 3 scenarios, below are concept sketches of the art.

Player boards have had their textures updated from the previous wooden pattern.

The Game Mat art is done, currently awaiting graphic design to overlay the board, we will have an update next month of what it will look like.

Trays

Below are dual tray beds (for Deluxe, All in and Investor pledges). As an example we used the M. Lion. Our goal was for both the minis and the meeples to fit the same tray. The tray will be all black, the inner part of the tray will be a soft plastic.

Prototype

Posted are images form our Sunday night testing.  It was a very close 3 player 105 min game! As you may have noticed, based on tester feedback, we have designed the side boards into the main board. This shifted all the focus back on the main board. This picture was taken at low light. One of our goals is to have the game look good in low light as well as well lit rooms.

3D printing our own meeples and minis has given us the opportunity to make more prototypes then we originally thought.

Pledge Manager

Several backers asked about paying the shipping fees. You still have 5-7 months before we move to that phase! We want to have a clearer view on the production timeline before collecting addresses and finalizing pledges.

This is it for this month, we are looking forward to updating you next month! We would love your thoughts and comments, please reach out to us.
